proper caloric intake

Post by stillgrowin »

This has always confused me. I am reading the feast phase currently. Do I want to base my caloric intake on my lean body weight or total body weight. My thought is if you want to maintain, grow or loose the part you are targeting is lean body weight. I wonder if this is why it has taken me so long to loose weight.

My lean body weight is 156. I am at 9% body fat at 171. my diet when I started was based on what I weighed which was 200.

Your body fat doesn't need calorie to maintain itself.

So take your lean body mass.

Yes, this is why you should use something like the Katch-McArdle equation ideally to find your maintenance calories.

The best way to go about it is to eat frequent smaller meals. Don't over-consume any one food category at a meal.
Once your body gets what it needs the excess will be stored as fat. plan to lose about 2 lbs a week..
