Obama demands GM CEO to resign?

Post by askmass »

I think GM should be allowed to fail, period, that's the free market.... but, since when does the President of the United States dictate who runs private companies?

Your comment has already turned into a "truth in jest", Zman.

From the pres. press conference today on the auto industry-

"During this time, my team will be working closely with GM to produce a better business plan."

"It is my hope that the steps I am announcing today will go a long way towards answering many of the questions people may have about the future of GM and Chrysler. But just in case there are still nagging doubts, let me say it as plainly as I can -- if you buy a car from Chrysler or General Motors, you will be able to get your car serviced and repaired, just like always. Your warranty will be safe."

"In fact, it will be safer than it's ever been. Because starting today, the United States government will stand behind your warranty."

Oh goody. This means they'll have access to all my warranty information too.

I feel so safe and assured.

And there's always the comfort of knowing that if I have a bad product that the government won't stand behind, I can just take them to court...

Where does this end? Does the government step in to regulate fat people soon?

Maybe they'll only be able to buy gov't approved food?
