Getting lean the first time the hardest?

Post by DaCookie »

Just wanted to ask does it make sense that to get to say 6-8% bodyfat the first time will be A LOT? harder then say if I got to that weight then put on a few %, then got back down again?

Coming from the angle that the body has 'seen' that bodyfat percentage before and will more easily go to it the next time round as its a lot less worried about survival since its already seen that bodyfat %?Does that make sense?

Edit: Reason I ask is Im still losing weight, lost 14lbs so far but its going so so slow now.Like 1lb a week and my top 2 abs are only just peaking out non flexed so I have to lose at least another 14lbs or so.

I'd day if you're happy with the amount of LBM you've been able to build, it makes sense to chase BF% this low and stay within a reasonable range. Will make it much easier to achieve IMO at any given point in time.

If on the other hand you haven't yet achieved the pinnacle of your size/strength yet - work on putting on as MUCH LBM and getting as STRONG as possible first.

You'll thank me later... :)
