The report said the men are suspected of overseeing an operation in which untainted milk powder was mixed with melamine-infused powder. Melamine can be added to diluted milk products as a way to fool quality control tests for protein levels. This allows unscrupulous dairies to stretch their profits.

Melamine can have dire effects when ingested, including causing kidney stones and kidney

Good find.

I think John posted something about this prior when the whole Melamine thing really broke loose. Cheap whey's got caught with their pants down. I can't even imagine what I'd feel like if I gave this to my kid and he died. I mean good God..

Just one of the reasons I use MassPro.

This was as recent as yesterday !

Looks like a repeat offense.

The report said that this issue was discovered sometime ago and they put in strict laws to improve quality, however, they got caught again and some people (Chinese management for the companies cheating) are going to jail because of it

Sunday night news show 60 minuets did a story on fake Viagra where they explained the high tech 3d hologram logo used to prevent counter fitting. The story went under cover to mfg plants in China where hidden camera's shot footage of filler chemicals being used in the knock off Viagra. I think it turned out to be the same compound used in highway paint that makes it so durable !!!

Also I've been told that some cheap peking ravioli's from China were made with diced up cardboard and no duck at all......not so sure about this one but you can probably find the 60 min story with a google.

We've never used Chinese material in anything in our line since day one.

I recall in the early days when a certain bulk material supplier approached me with "Half the price of USA Creatine Monohydrate from China", pitching we use it instead of the acclaimed standard (for the time) Phanstil in our Pure Power Creatine of the day... so, to entertain him (read, get rid of him wasting my time) I asked for a sample and COA.

Got the sample a week later, complete with Chinese lab assay stating "98.2% pure". Sent it off to a buddy at an American lab to run it through HPLC testing... it came back 63% pure, with the rest cheap maltodextrin.

I was not surprised because I'd already heard the score on Chinese "bulk nutrients" many times before and knew it to be true.

When the pitch man called back, we had a brief but very interesting conversation before he had to beg off to "take a very important call" and get back to me later.

I'm still waiting on that dude to call me back after 15 years.

:)

We should probably splash it on our main page- NOT MADE IN CHINA.

Virtually everything you see in Wal-Mart and GNC has at least some Chinese material in it. Big, so called "famous" brands with the slick ads proclaiming how great they are... people have no idea.

It's absolutely unthinkable this is happening again. Especially after people died the first time...

I know if it was my son, I'd be on a plane to China to take care of business....

I think the recent wave of melamine concern is driving MASS PRO to it's highest ever sales to Medical facilities, significantly more than before.

I've got to say, we are proud of the status MASS PRO has attained among the serious protein community over the years.

Thank you.

TSA wanted to know what it was too :)

One of them asked "what's colostrum"? I told the guy and he looked at me like I was nuts.

Then he polished off his Fritos. Classic..

COLOSTRUM sure sounds like a THREAT to national security, doesn't it?

If I roll my eyes too high and north, will they freeze that way?
